Oborududu faced a tough start in her Olympic wrestling match against Canada's Linda Morais.
Nigeria's Blessing Oborududu has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the women's 68kg wrestling competition at the Olympics.
A semifinal place means that the 35-year-old is in a good position to win a medal for the West African nation. However, it remains to be seen if she would better the silver medal she won at Tokyo 2020.

Oborududu endured a challenging start, conceding two points in the opening three minutes against Canada's Linda Morais.
However, she staged a remarkable comeback, scoring six unanswered points in the second half of the match. The impressive turnaround secured an 8-2 victory for the Nigerian wrestler, propelling her into the penultimate round of the competition.
In the Quarterfinal, the wrestler overcame a tough challenge from France's Koumba Larroque, ultimately winning 6-2 to book her spot in the next round.
Sports Minister sends encouragement
Sports Minister Senator John Owan Enoh has commended Oborududu's performance, urging her to strive for gold.
"Blessing Oborududu has shown incredible resilience and skill throughout her journey. We believe in her abilities and are cheering her on to make Nigeria proud once again," the minister said.
In other news, Pulse Sports reported that Akuh Purity, head coach of Nigeria's women's wrestling team, is confident that her team can exceed the country's previous Olympic record.
In an interview with Promise Okotoko, Media Assistant of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, she stated that the team is eager to make Nigeria proud at the Paris Olympics.
"We are aware of the high expectations placed on us after Oborududu's silver medal at the last Olympics, but we are not under pressure.
