The Akure-based skippers breaks their records of most skips on one foot in 30 seconds and 1 minute.
Nigeria Rope Skippers were on song on Friday as Gbenga Ezekiel and Philip Solomon made another history smashing several Guinness World Records.
Gbenga Ezekiel, the current world record holder on Most Skips on one leg in one minute showcased his skipping prowess by breaking his own World Record of 265 skips in One Minute and set a new Record of 276 with eleven additional skips.
This remarkable achievement has made him the first Nigeria and African Rope Skipper to break his own record. Gbenga first broke the record in October 2022 by skipping 265 to dethrone Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.
Taking his winning streaks farther, he also took to the podium to erase Himanshu Prajapathi of India's record of 132 in Most Double Under Skips on One Leg in One minute by skipping 142 in one minute.
His counterpart Philip Solomon the current Guinness World Record Holder in Most Skips on One Leg in 30 seconds also sent spectators wild when he added another title to his records. Philip successfully skipped 70 in Most Cris-cross on One Leg in 30 Seconds Blindfolded to erase Himanshu Prajapathi of India's record of 62.
In another development, Dunsin Dubem registered his name on Guinness World Record by breaking Ryan Eedion ONG Alonzo's 73 skips record in Most Double Under Crossovers in 30 seconds by skipping 74.
This narrow victory has ranked him among Guinness World Record Holders in history. The 17years old pupil of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure said he hopes to increase the record in his next attempt.
The jubilation was however incomplete as Kenneth Godswill Chidera could not compete to shatter Peter Thompson of United Kingdom's Most Double Under Crossovers in One Minute record because Guinness World Record is yet to give him green light to precede with the contest.
Gbenga Ezekiel could not also challenge the same Peter Thompson in Most Conservative Double Under Crossovers due to the same issue . They however expressed confidence to get the records for Nigeria as soon as GWR gives them approval.
Reacting to the brilliant performance of the skippers, Coach Ukandu Chibuisi said he was satisfied with the performances of the skippers and looks forward to more wonderful performances in future contest. He added that the records set by Gbenga and Philip will not be broken easily.
