The Bankers have ended their pool ties unbeaten after winning all three matches.

African Club Championships defending champions KCB are edging closer to their successful title defense after topping their pool courtesy of a 3-0 win over Salitgue of Senegal in their last pool match on Tuesday, May 16.

The Bankers have ended their pool ties unbeaten after winning all three matches. They started off their campaign with a 3-0 win over Nyong of Cameroon in sets of 25-7, 25-20, and 25-16 in the first, second, and third sets respectively.

In their second match, they also stamped authority with a 3-0 win over National Alcohol of Ethiopia in straight sets of 25-20, 25-12, and 25-9. The Bankers will on Wednesday, May 17 know their opponents in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, National League champions Kenya Pipeline Company are also on course to the knockouts as they have won two of their matches played so far. This has seen them emerge top in their pool.

In their opening match, the Oilers fought hard to secure a 3-1 win over Chief of Naval Staff Spikers of Nigeria.

They started the campaign with a 25-12 in the first set but then lost the second set 21-25. They then charged up and won the third and fourth sets 25-13 and 27-25 respectively.

In their second match against Mouloudia Club of Algeria, the Oilers also secured a 3-1 hard-fought win. They started the first set with a 25-21 win before falling short in the second set and lost 20-25.

They then turned on the style and secured straight wins of 25-18 and 25-21 in their third and fourth sets respectively.

They face CO Descartes of Ivory Coast today, Wednesday and victory over their opponents will see them finish top in the group and join KCB in the knockout stage.
