Philip Solomon skipped 153 times with one leg in 30 seconds to become Guinness World Record Holder
Young Nigerian Guinness World Record holder Philip Solomon has disclosed that skipping can become a big sporting event like football if given the recognition.
Pulse Sports reported that Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student at Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State holds the Guinness World Record holder for the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
Philip Solomon Outstanding Record
On January 24, Solomon officially surpassed the previous record set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.

Akure-based Philip Solomon and Gbenga Ezekiel are Guinness World Record Holders.
Rasel Islam of Bangladesh had set a record of 145 skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
However, Philip Solomon has now eclipsed that record and After four months, his attempt was officially ratified by Guinness World Records.
The organisation said they confirmed the records after reviewing the video.
'I cannot abandon Skipping for any other sports'
During an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria, Solomon told Hassan Abdulsalam that he couldn't abandon skipping for any other sports.

He said, "Skipping can get the same attention like football if we give it same energy, we just launched a league which can be like the normal league in football.
"The government should take rope Skipping very serious and put more efforts like other sports."

Philip Solomon: 17-year-old Nigerian student breaks Guinness World Record
Philip Solomon is among the Nigerian sports stars who hold Guinness World Records.
The Young skipper revealed that his skipping career only started two years ago.
"It all started in 2021 when we were in School, normally we do train as a skipper but the there was a day that our Sports master came and informed us that this skipping we are doing that why don't we take it to the stadium and he linked us with our current coach. Since then I have been training."
However, Philip Solomon said combining Education and training has not been an easy task for him but he gets adequate support from family and friends.
"Combining school and training together is not easy but since there is a saying that Education makes you super while Sports makes you a star, combining both makes you a SuperStar.
"It was my Daddy that even handed me over to my coach after discovering that I have great interest in Skipping and which made my parents understand and support me," he said.

After Guinness World Record certified Solomon on his records, several promises were made but non of them have been kept.
"There are promises yet and they are saying they are expecting the certificate and nothing from them yet."

Inspiration behind breaking Guinness World Record
The Akure-born youngster said he was inspired by his teammate to break records.
He said, "When Gbenga Ezekiel broke his own record, he is my team mate and training partner and met with my coach that I would like to do mine as well."
"Our coach started searching for records and I saw the one I broke. Skipping has been very good to me."
Our correspondent confirmed that Philip Solomon is not resting on his oars but plans to break his own record and set a new one in August.
