GOLF Sports CS Ababu Namwamba presides over the KCB East Africa Golf Tournament

The event will take place across 12 counties with participants from five East African countries.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba presided over the East Africa Golf tournament sponsored by KCB on Tuesday 11 April.

The event is set to take place across 12 counties with participants from five East African countries. CS Namwamba welcomed all the golfing enthusiasts and noted that the event will be a platform for them to interact with other golfers and learn.

The CS lauded KCB for its commitment to supporting Kenya's sporting sector, adding that it has helped put Kenya in the league of sporting powerhouses.

“To the golfing enthusiasts, this is the right avenue for you to channel your energy. This is an opportunity for you to connect and interact freely with your fellow golfers through this amazing event

Namwamba added that the tournament perfectly fit into the Ministry's flagship of the Talanta Hela program, which seeks to monetise talents and put money in the pocket of Kenya's sportsmen and women.

On his part, KCB Human Resource Director Japhet Achola, who was representing the CEO, assured the CS of the Bank's readiness to partner with the ministry to support the various sporting projects in the country and to ensure Kenya's sporting ecosystem is elevated to the next level.

"Sporting is a huge part of our brand promise. As a bank, we are keen to explore more areas of collaboration and partnership with the ministry so that we can continue to positively transform livelihoods of Kenyans in line with our brand purpose, for people for better," he said.
