Former Pool Cranes captain Alfred 'Black Sheep' Gumisiriza believes that Aden Joseph's tour to Uganda will spur improvement in the level of the game in the country.
Aden a celebrated pool player on the continent and a former U-20 World Champion is in the country to take on some of Uganda’s best players.
“I recognize and respect Aden [Joseph] for honouring the private invitations to come and play some battles in Uganda,” Gumusiriza told Pulse Sports.
“The tour might be official but his presence adds a lot of value to the Ugandan pool fraternity. It tickles us because at least we can see how much the sport is growing.”
Aden started with fire to thrash Uganda’s seed three Glorious Ssenyonjo on Thursday however, national captain Habib Ssebuguzi restored sanity to win 7-4 on Friday at the Black Sheep Pool Arena in Mukono.
He recovered to scrape a last-frame win over Ceasar Chandiga in a thrilling 21-20 victory on Saturday night.
“We need to copy some points from the best in Africa. His tour will add value because at least this has helped the local players even those who didn’t play against him to pick some points to improve,” Gumisiriza said.
