The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, has charged team Nigeria to go for victory at the World University Games.

Ogunsola made the charges while receiving UNILAG's representatives in China at her office on the 8th floor of the Senate House.
The trio of Ayuba Daniel Ikko-Allah, Oyeniyi Kehinde Oreoluwa, and Thovoethin Sewekan Oluwasegun will be representing the institution at the University Games.

The World University Games will flag off on July 28 in Chengdu, China.
The trio was selected along with other Nigerian team representatives at the trials in Benin, Edo State.
The trio won gold medals in their respective sports categories, table tennis men's single, table tennis women, and 400M during the NUGA Games hosted by the University of Lagos in 2022.

Mr. Ayuba, Miss Kehinde, and Mr. Oluwasegun will represent the country in Table Tennis and athletics, respectively.
They are expected to leave for China on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, and return on August 11, 2023.

Pulse Sports reported that the International University Sports Federation (FISU) has opened Games Village for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games.
The Games Village is Located on the Chengdu University campus, the FISU Games Village is set to welcome upwards of 9,500 athletes and officials.
