Kenya Under-20 rugby national team's talented flyhalf, Spencer Davis, is gearing up for the Junior Rugby World Trophy tournament, set to take place in Nairobi at the Nyayo National Stadium in a fortnight.

Davis, who secured his place in the final squad, is determined to bring his unique style of play to the tournament while also incorporating other styles and showcasing his kicking abilities.

In an interview, the England-based Davies student at the Bryanston School expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament.

"I'm kind of bringing my kind of style of play but obviously combines with it other kinds of style of play and my kicking game hopefully ."

The talented young player aims to contribute his unique playing style to the team's efforts while integrating other strategies to enhance their performance on the field.

Davis also highlighted the valuable contributions of the newly appointed skills and defense coach, Levi Labeeb, who joined Chipu.

Labeeb's expertise encompasses various aspects of the game, ranging from defense to attack and set pieces.

Davis mentioned the team's excitement in learning new structures and defensive methods from Labeed.

"Levi has taught us some really interesting and kind of fascinating rugby structures and defensive methods, and I would really look forward to implementing them," he said.

While Davis acknowledged the team's focus on performing well in the tournament, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a single-minded goal.

"The main thing for us as individual players and as a team is to just have one main goal, and that's our main focus," he stated. "We're going to give these teams a real run for their money."

With Kenya hosting the tournament for the first time since 2009, Chipu is determined to make their home advantage count.

Their opponents in Pool B include Hong Kong, China, Samoa, and Spain. Davis and his teammates are laser-focused on the upcoming matches and are eager to showcase their skills and teamwork.

"We're going to try to do as well as we can in this tournament, and then after that, we'll see where it goes. But yeah, we're laser-focused on this for now," Davis concluded.

The anticipation is building as Kenya prepares to host the Junior Rugby World Trophy.

Rugby enthusiasts and supporters alike are eagerly awaiting the tournament, which promises intense matches and exciting displays of skill from the talented young players representing their countries.
