The Lionesses head coach has hailed the impact of KRU's head of high performance Chris Brown's impact in helping Kenya 7s return to the top flight of World sevens rugby.
Kenya 7s are back in the World Sevens series at the very first time of asking after beating Germany in the Madrid Grand Final to regain their core-status.
While the impact of the new coaching staff led by Kevin Wambua has been integral in making them achieve their targets and objectives, the addition of Chris Brown has no doubt helped them get to an even better level in the last couple of years.
Brown is not strange to Kenya as he previously worked with Shujaa under the reign of coach Mike Friday between 2012 and 2013 when the team recorded a marked improvement.

Kenya Sevens are set for a major boost as former strength and conditioning expert will join the team this month ahead of a crucial period as they seek top flight return and Olympics medal.
Brown had implemented a rigorous training regime christened the ‘House of pain’ during his stint with Shujaa under coach Friday and he has designed another tough programme for Wambua’s men.
The New Zealand native arrived in March, and in the last two tournaments that Shujaa played in Germany and Spain, you could tell there was a marked improvement in terms of the boys being quicker and fitter.
Although the women fell a little short in Poland, they pulverized most teams their way, including high flying Argentina in the quarter finals.
Now, the women’s head coach Dennis Mwanja has attributed a lot of that aspect improving on Brown’s impact.

Shujaa: Financial windfall that awaits Kenya after World Series return
Kenya Sevens’ return to the World Series will not only boost their status but will also see the country receive more millions which they lost following 2023 relegation.
“Definitely, the impact of Chris Brown as a high performance manager has brought a lot of valve into both the Lionesses and Shujaa sides, and we are only getting better,” Mwanja told Pulse Sports.
“There is no magic wand to wave. It is a process.”
In an earlier interview with Pulse Sports, Kenya Rugby Union chairman Alexander ‘Sasha’ Mutai had revealed that the side had marked alot of improvement in Brown’s first stint as the SNC.
“When he was here with coach Mike Friday, you could see the difference. We want him to work on the boys before May and also before they go to the Olympics.”
Shujaa will then turn their focus to the Paris Olympics, another assignment that will need good preparations as they seek a medal that has eluded them at the last two editions.
