Mwanja unveils the 30-woman Lionesses squad, including four new players who were not part of the Rugby Women's Africa Cup campaign in May for the WXV3 Dubai tournament.
Kenya Lionesses head coach Dennis Mwanja has named the squad that will be taking part in the inaugural WXV3 tournament which will take place in Dubai from 13th to 28th October.
This announcement has attracted significant attention from rugby enthusiasts, as the team gears up for the much-anticipated competition.
The former Shujaa captain has opted to retain a majority of the squad that took part in their two pivotal warm-up matches held in South Africa earlier this month, with four players who made their debuts in the invitational included in the traveling squad.

RUGBY Safari Sevens returns following two-year hiatus
The tournament last took place in 2021. It was set to return in 2022, but was canceled by the previous KRU board due to “unavoidable circumstances”.
Eight of the players that took part in the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup have been left out for the trip to Dubai, including Sheila Chajira, who captained the side to second place behind winners South Africa.
Grace Adhiambo, Jean Bisela, Maureen Muritu, Stellah Wafula and Sinaida Mokaya failed to make the cut, while Bernadette Olesia sadly passed away in August after a short illness.
“We are looking at taking a game at a time. This is unchartered territory for the Lionesses but we are happy to roll with the punches and take in the experience. We are quietly confident, we are happy about the upcoming period of activity, ” Mwanja said back in September.
