Kabras went behind 22-19 at the break against Harlequins but managed to turn around the game to win 50-22 with a series of tries in the second half.
Kabras Sugar head coach Carlos Katywa has praised his boys’ mental fortitude after they managed to overcome Kenya Harlequin 50-22 in a Kenya Cup clash last weekend.
Kabras went behind 22-19 at the break but managed to turn around the game to win 50-22 with a series of tries in the second half.
Speaking to Pulse Sports, the South African tactician admitted Paul Murunga’s men had given them a run for their money, forcing them to work hard for their victory.
“Let me first say congratulations to Quins,” Katywa said.

Aside from Kabras brushing aside Harlequin, here is a recap of Match Day Eight of the 2023/2024 Kenya Cup season.
“They are the first team to test us under resilience and putting us under pressure and actually they are the first team to even put three tries in our defence.
“I mentioned it a few weeks ago that this is something we need to undergo and see whether when we are put under the test, when put under pressure, how do we come out of that?
“Let me give credit to our boys. We hang in there. We never crumbled, we did not falter. We just told ourselves, ‘let us regather, let us calm down, let us assess the situation and see where are the areas of concern.”
Katya believes that his boys made unusual mistakes in the first half which forced them into conceding unnecessary tries.

RUGBY Kabras Sugar's rampant second half blows away Kenya Harlequin
Harlequin took a narrow 22-19 lead into the break but were taken apart by Kabras in the second half, forcing them to endure their second loss of the season.
Another record was broken by Quins as they became the first team to score more than one try in a match against Kabras this campaign.
“If you look at the three tries we scored, it was a matter of us not retaking our set pieces which is the restart kick off because we scored, they scored and they were taking advantage of our mistakes," he added.
“We rectified that issue of the kick off and then we stabilised because we came into this match with alot of flack on our back that Quins is the team to take us down.
“I think some of the boys took it to heart and a little bit of anxiety in the first half made us not stick to our game plan and structure.

“We are on track of our goals that we want to achieve this season.”
