Matchday nine of the 2023/2024 Kenya Cup season saw Kabras Sugar become the first team to book a semi-final slot with a comprehensive win over Menengai Oilers.
Moseti Nyaenya continued to inspire Nondies to get another win against Blak Blad, while Homeboyz have now lost nine matches to Strathmore Leos.

KCB scored five tries in the first half to cap off a dominant display against Kenya Harlequin to keep their hopes of finishing top of the Kenya Cup table alive.
Kabras Sugar 47-3 Oilers
Kabras RFC secured a direct semi-final spot in the Kenya Cup knock-out stage by defeating Menengai Oilers 47-3 at Kakamega Showground.
Ntabeni Dukisa opened the scoring with a try, but a challenging conversion left Kabras with a 5-0 lead. Barry Robinson's agile play contributed to a 12-0 lead after he assisted Alfred Orege's try, with Dukisa converting.
Patrick Lumumba added another try just before halftime, and Dukisa's successful conversion extended Kabras' lead to 19-0.
The second half started with both teams struggling to break defences. However, Kabras dominated with rapid tries from Lumumba and Teddy Akala, reaching a 33-3 lead after nullifying Oilers' penalty.
Barry Robinson then scored two quick tries, capitalising on assists from Walter Okoth and Lumumba, extending Kabras' lead to 40-3. Dukisa successfully converted both, sealing Kabras' commanding 47-3 victory and securing a direct path to the semi-finals.

Nondies secured a decisive 22-10 victory over Blak Blad at the Kenyatta University ground. The last time the students lost at their home ground was in a match against Kabras that ended prematurely due to fan trouble, concluding in a 15-3 scoreline.
The right winger, Moseti Nyaenya, played a crucial role in Nondies' win, contributing four penalty points that provided pivotal momentum and allowed them to dominate the match.
The game kicked off with Nondies taking an early 3-0 lead in the third minute through a penalty successfully converted by Nyaenya.

Dominic Osino added three more points with a dropkick, extending the lead further. In the 19th minute, Nyaenya converted another penalty from 10 meters beyond the halfway line, bringing Nondies' lead to 9-0.
By halftime, a successful kick from Nondies' left winger increased the lead to 12-0.
Blak Blad opened the second half with a converted try by Obat Kuke, supplemented by Oyoo Daniel's extra points, narrowing the gap to 15-7. However, Nyaenya responded swiftly with his fourth penalty, widening the lead to 15-7.
Despite Blak Blad's persistent efforts, including a missed penalty kick, Nondies secured a try, duly converted. Blak Blad managed to score a penalty through Kitutu Ian, adding three more points to their tally. However, it wasn't enough to significantly close the gap, resulting in a final score of 22-10 in favour of Nondies at the Kenyatta University ground.
In the other Kenya Cup fixtures played on matchday nine, Homeboyz continued to struggle as they lost their ninth game of the season, losing 12-34 to Strathmore Leos.
Mwamba continued their stretch of consecutive wins, beating Kisumu 32-27, while Catholic Monks were not lucky to be on the end of a 31-10 thrashing by Nakuru.
