Match Day Seven of the 2023/2024 Kenya Cup season is now behind us, and there was plenty to talk about.
Menengai Oilers lost their first game of the season at Harlequins expense, while Mwamba registered their second win of the season to get out of the relegation places.
Kabras and KCB continued to register comprehensive wins, while Homeboyz remain the only team yet to win a Kenya Cup match this season.

Kenya Harlequins 33-16 Menengai Oilers
Kenya Harlequins secured a convincing 33-16 victory over Menengai Oilers at RFUEA Grounds to inflict the Nakuru-based visitors their first loss of the season.
Cornelius Mokoro gave Quins an early lead after he booted in a penalty for a 3-0 lead. Dennis Abukusue responded with a penalty goal later on to tie the scores at 3-3.
John Okoth would cross over to score the first try which was not converted.
Quins kept piling the pressure on the visitors which led to a penalty, but Mokoro could not repeat his trick as he hit it wide to give the Oilers an 8-3 lead into the break.
Harlequins scored their first try of the game in the second half through Richard Wangila. Mokoro was sure with the conversion to take the scores to 10-8.

The Oilers would respond with a penalty moments later to take the scores to 10-11.
Mokoro would then score two quick penalties before another try by Paul Mutsam's quick hands by the Oilers backline saw them unleash the on-form Beldad Ogeta in space and he raced to score a try in the corner to take the scores to 23-16 in favor of Quins.
Mokoro proved to be a constant thorn in the flesh of the Oilers as he booted another penalty, this time round from 40m out to extend their lead to 26-16.
Harlequin would add another try in the dying stages of the game, a try that was again converted by Mokoro to claim a huge 33-16 win over Menengai Oilers.
KCB 47-8 Black Blad
KCB continued their perfect run, beating Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad 47-8 at the Kenyatta University grounds.
The Bankers took the lead minutes into the game before Blak Blad responded quickly with a penalty kick

They would extend their lead with an unconverted try by Mike Kimwele. Blak Blad briefly pulled one try back but KCB lock Elvis Olukusi earned his name on the scoresheet with a converted try to give them a 19-8 lead at the break.
Bob Muhati's try, converted by Ajeliti Lionel, marked the beginning of KCB's dominance in the second half, extending their lead to 26-08.
Subsequent tries from William Opaka and Vincent Onyala, both converted by Lionel, emphasized KCB's relentless scoring, sealing the victory at 47-08 by full-time.
Kabras 66-7 Nakuru
Defending Kenya Cup champions, Kabras RFC, secured a resounding 66-7 win against Nakuru RFC at Kakamega Showground.

RUGBY Shujaa to face Tonga, Portugal in Pool A of Uruguay Challenger in March
Shujaa were seeded first after winning the opening leg in Dubai and have now known their Pool A opponents for the second tournament in Montevideo, Uruguay in March.
Brian Juma and Mathias Osimbo each scored two tries, with Patrick Lumumba, Brian Mutua, and Brian Tanga also getting on the scoresheet, contributing to Kabras' dominant performance.
Despite Nakuru becoming just the second side to score a try against Kabras who had gone over 440 minutes without conceding to make it 33-7 just before the break, the reigning champions showcased their prowess with tries from Alfred Orege, Eugene Sifuna, Geoffrey Shitambasi, and Walter Okoth.
Kabras RFC now leads the league table with 35 points.

Nondies took an early lead through two penalties by Nyaenya, but the Leos responded, leveling the score at 6-6 before halftime.
In the second half, Nondies surged ahead with two quick tries, but Strathmore fought back, capitalizing on a two-man advantage to lead 20-18.
