FOOTBALL Tusker pay glowing tribute to departing veteran midfielder Humphrey Mieno
The Brewers have parted ways with the experienced star who has been part of their key players in recent years.
Coach Andrew Amonde noted that they have been working around the clock to ensure everything is on course and so far, things are looking up.
“Our preparations have been good from the last time we were here as a team. We have been trying to correct some of the things that didn’t go well for us in Mombasa. That has been our main focus for the last four weeks," Amonde said.
"There has been a lot of intense training to just get the boys to the level of fitness that is required. I believe we have done our best as a team and we are ready to go to Prinsloo."
Amonde has pointed out that their major undoing was ball retention, set plays and execution which they have been working on.
"The biggest thing is knowing how to retain the ball, playing well in our set plays, being convincing when we play, and executing the game well…that’s what cost us in Mombasa. We went back to the drawing board and talked to the boys and they took everything positively," he added.
