The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) Level 1 Medical and WADA Training Course will hold in Abuja
The inaugural Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) Level 1 Medical and WADA Training Course, held at the Media Centre, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, will help no less than 42 Nigerians benefit from it.
In order to further advance the growth of the game in the nation, the federation had earlier organized a seminar and workshop for coaches and officials.
The three-day medical and anti-doping conference, which will train authorities and other Nigerians, ends on Friday with 44 participants from all the nation's geopolitical zones.
A World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited educator will educate participants on day one, while Dr. Rotimi Akinola, another WADA-accredited educator, will take on the last two days.
We want our players to be informed about the rules of the game – NRFF
The NRFF President, Dr. Ademola Are, said that training will equip all coaches to keep abreast of the rules guiding the game.
Are added that the training will also help tackle anti-doping among players.
“The NRFF is ready to receive all the participants. Everything is in place, including the venue and facilitators. It is important that players and coaches are well informed because we don’t want our players to run foul of the law.
“Participants will be certified after the course and will also be kept abreast of the laws guiding anti-doping, how to avoid them and know what drugs and food players should take or avoid.”
Sunday Dare, the minister of sports, and Ismaila Abubakar, the permanent secretary of the ministry, will attend the three-day seminar.
