A round up of all the latest scores, fixtures and updates from day two of the Prinsloo 7s taking place in Nakuru

The quarter final stages of the Prinsloo sevens leg being held in Nakuru came to a close on Sunday morning with no real surprises whatsoever. All three series favorites, KCB, Kabras and Oilers were able to secure tickets to the semi-finals.

Nondescripts will at least get to continue taking part in the main cup of next leg set to take place in Nairobi after beating Kisumu 12-10 in the quarter finals of the challenge cup.

Main Cup Quarterfinal Round Up

Kabras Sugar defeated hosts Nakuru 20-5 to reach the cup semis through tries from Alfred Orege, William Muhanji, Jone Kubu and Lameck Ambesta while Paul Lusesi scored the sole try for Nakuru.

Brian Wahinya converted tries from Vincent Onyala and Edmund Anya as KCB edged Strathmore Leos 14-7 in the second cup quarterfinal. Victor Odhiambo scored the consolation for Strathmore with Stephen Osumba converting.

Two tries from Beldad Ogeta as well as Dennis Abukuse’s touch down and Geoff Ominde’s two conversions gave Menengai Oilers the 19-0 victory over Homeboyz.

Mwamba have been sent packing from the main cup quarters after a 19-0 thrashing at the hands of Kenya Harlequin

Challenge Trophy quarter final round up

Nondescripts ensured survival in the first division of the ongoing SportPesa National 7s Circuit after defeating Kisumu 12-10 in their Challenge Trophy quarter final fixture at the Prinsloo 7s on Sunday morning in Nakuru.

It was Kisumu who led through unconverted tries from Elvince Odhiambo and Maurice Kennedy before Nondies responded with tries from Calvin Sheunda and Rayan Odua, before  Fidens Tony converted to seal the victory.

Daystar Falcons defeated Blak Blad 21-12 in a match that saw Trevor Opondo, Samuel Ovwamu and Floyd Wabwire touch down for the Falcons with Clinton Kioko slotting home three conversions. Arthur Gundaru and Saleh Wesonga scored for Blad with Ian Kituku managing a conversion.

Catholic Monks emerged 19-10 winners over Western Bulls as Masinde Muliro defeated Zetech 24-19.

Masinde Muliro’s Paywick Munoko scored twice with Kaburu Veron and Maboni Sam touching down once each.

Anderson Oduor scored two tries for Zetech and weighed in with a conversion as Brayan Ondego also scored a try and conversion.
