Both Upper Hill and Lenana will represent Nairobi Region in the national school games in Kakamega after edging out Lenana 14-12 in a tight contest.

Upper Hill School took full advantage of their home advantage to edge out Lenana High School and book a slot in the national school games scheduled to take place in Kakamega from 6th to 12th August 2023.

In what proved to be a close encounter, Upperhill needed two well converted tries to edge a spirited Changez side who also scored two tries, but one of the two was not converted well enough to merit keeping the game going.

However, despite losing, Lenana will also be representing the region in the nationals.

Upperhill had stormed their way to the final, brushing aside Garden 31-7 in the quarterfinals, before brushing aside Dagoretti 21-0 in the semi-finals.

Lenana had edged out Nairobi School 7-5 in the other semi-final match and beaten Hospital Hill 12-5 in the quarterfinal.

Nairobi School made amends for losing the semi-finals by beating Dagoretti 22-5 in the third place playoff match.

Hospital Hill won the fifth place playoff with a win over Peter Kibukosya Secondary. Lang’ata High beat Kibra in the 9th place playoff final, while Our Lady of Fatima sealed 13th place with a win over Light Academy.

Upper Hill will be hoping to use the national platform to win themselves a ticket to the East African games, which will give them a chance at winning the title they last won in 2019.
