Chipu will be seeking to make ammends for their demolition at the hands of Zimbabwe in the Barthes Trophy when they face each other in the World u20 fifth place playoff.

The Kenya U20 Rugby 15s national team, Chipu, will be looking to end their World Rugby U20 Trophy campaign on a high note as they seek to avenge their loss against Zimbabwe in the fifth-place playoff of the tournament which will come to an end at Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

Chipu lost the final of the Barthes U20 Trophy at the same venue three months ago, consigning them to a Pool B place at the tournament 28-7.

The side will be playing not just for fifth place, but also for pride infront of a Kenyan crowd which will be expected to rally behind the Curtis Olago-coached outfit.

Olago, who has been full of praise for his side’s ‘growth with every game played’ is keen to help oversee his juniors end the tournament on a high.

“We have grown with every game we have played, we are keen to close out our campaign on a high," he said.

Aluoch believes the defeat to the side will serve as an extra source of motivation for the team.

“There’s obviously something special, I’d call it a great rivalry between  Kenya and Zimbabwe, be it in the sevens, U20s or senior levels. This match is no different and the boys are ready and motivated to set the record straight against Zimbabwe," he added.

Captain Michael has revealed that the game against Zimbabwe will be “personal”, describing the current group of players as “special” as they seek revenge over Zimbabwe.

“That is a personal match. We can play this game well. We are passionate. This is a special group. The fans should come and support us and we will give them a good game. It is a personal game.”

Meanwhile, there is one change to the Chipu side that started Tuesday’s 22-16 Pool B win over Hong Kong China as Raphael Wanga returns to partner captain Mike Wamalwa in midfield.

Faran Juma moves from fullback to flyhalf in one of two positional changes, as James Olela starts at fullback.

Eddy Wambugu and  Zephenes Obwanga return to the bench, while Brian Mwendwa  is not part of the match day squad for the fixture which kicks off at 2:00 PM EAT.
