Ajibade, Nnadozie to battle Oshoala for CAF Women's Player of the Year award

Alozie missing, as Oshoala, Nnadozie, Ucheibe, Ohale, Ajibade, Payne, and Kanu are among the nominees for the CAF Women's Player Awards.

The preliminary CAF Award 2023 nominees for the several women's categories have been revealed.

The nominees were chosen by a renowned panel consisting of CAF Technical Experts, Legends, and a few representatives from the media.

The panel considered the nominees' achievements across all categories between December 2022 and November 2023.

To honor the valiant efforts of the shot-stoppers, the best women's goalie will get a prize for the first time, much like in the men's division.

There are ten players up for the inaugural CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year title.

Thirty players will compete in the other categories for the coveted Player of the Year award, which was won by Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala for a record-tying fifth time at the most recent Awards Gala in July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.

For the Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Young Player of the Year awards, which are only open to players under the age of 21, ten nominees each have been penciled in.

The winners of the current CAF Women's Champions League Cote d'Ivoire 2023 are all eligible to compete for the title of Club of the Year.

On December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco, the illustrious figures of African football will grace the Awards Gala.
