Arthur Okonkwo joins Wrexham
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who has agreed to a deal that runs through the end of the 2026–2027 season, has joined Wrexham AFC permanently.

On Transfer Deadline Day in September of last year, 22-year-old Okonkwo first signed a loan deal with Wrexham from Arsenal.
Last season, he played in 40 games across all competitions and kept 16 clean sheets to help the Red Dragons finish second in Sky Bet League Two and earn a promotion to League One.
The goalie will join Wrexham on July 1 after leaving Arsenal, having now pledged his future to the club.

He took to social media to thank Arsenal for supporting him since 2009 till his permanent move in 2024.
Along with a photo was a message that said, "The time has come to say goodbye @arsenal ❤️

"Having joined the Club in 2009 at 8 years old, I have so many incredible memories from over 15 years.
"I’ve made friends for life and owe so much to the all the coaches I’ve worked with, team-mates I’ve played with, fans who’ve supported me and everyone involved with the Club for helping me grow and develop into the person and player I am today.

"Arsenal will always be special to me and I hope to see them be successful in the coming years. Thank you 🤝"
Okonkwo has played for England at the youth level but is still eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
