And Bebe Cool has expressed his utmost joy, seeing his son get a chance to showcase his ability at the top level in the country.

Following son Alpha Thierry Ssali's encouraging start at Express FC, singer Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool has provided a concrete assessment of his maiden performances.

In his first-ever season in the Uganda Premier League, the youngster has started both Express matches as they drew 0-0 with Mbarara City FC and beat Busoga United FC 2-0.

And Bebe Cool has expressed his utmost joy, seeing his son get a chance to showcase his ability at the top level in the country.

"Of course, I feel happy and honoured when he plays and contributes as an individual and a team player," the multi-award winner said in an interview with Bukedde.

"It's good that he can now show people that he can play and that he's talented. Good thing he's young and has a lot at store," he added.

Alpha Ssali played 65 minutes in the first game and was replaced by Sheif Batte before adding 72 minutes against Busoga.

"The good thing is, he has played well in his first games, and the fans have also said it; it's a team sport, he can be substituted, and others get an opportunity as well."

In both games, Ssali has operated off the flanks and showed great energy and glimpses of his playmaking prowess, and Bebe Cool feels a lot more is coming with time.

Bebe Cool and son Alpha Ssali are sprinkling star dust to the UPL.

"I think that after three or four games, he will even be much better," he said before adding:

"The coach has a style and always has to give the rest a chance so that in four or five games, he can have a proper eleven to start a match."

"We are happy with the coach; the substitutions were good, and after the subs, we (Express) played even much better."

Bebe Cool has always supported his son's career from his toddler years and even named him after Arsenal and Barcelona legend Thierry Henry.

"I've always wanted him to play football, but he also wanted it more as he grew older. He loves football more than I love music."

"He thinks football, breathes football and lives football," Bebe Cool added in a passionate show of support.

Ssali hopes to get off the mark in Express's next league match against Soltilo Bright Stars at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
