Yana Voloschenko who is the former girlfriend of Nigerian footballer Brown Ideye tells Pulse Sports that the Nigerian police have already been contacted amid the ongoing paternity scandal.
Former Super Eagles of Nigeria star Brown Ideye is currently in the news over an ongoing paternity scandal.
The 34-year-old Al Yarmouk striker is accused of abandoning his children in Ukraine during the war, according to his Ukrainian ex-girlfriend, Yana Voloshchenko.
Voloshchenko has two children for Ideye, with the eldest born in 2014 when the former Nigeria international was still playing for Ukranina league giants Dynamo Kyiv.
However, the Ukrainian businesswoman is furious with Ideye for allegedly neglecting his two children, Joel and Mitchell, as well as breaching the child-support contract.
Yana Voloschenko recently revealed in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria, that Ideye is currently owing $150,000 as alimony for 2022 and for this year.
The contract stated that every month Ideye must pay $7000 for the two children, and each passing day he fails to comply sees the figures increase.
All efforts to reach the player for comment, have so far been unsuccessful.
Yana Voloschenko confirms Brown Ideye has been reported to the Nigerian police
Brown Ideye’s case has now been reported to the Nigerian authorities as per a latest statement from Yana Voloschenko.
Yana told Pulse Sports on Wednesday, March 29, that the ongoing case involving Brown Ideye has been escalated and also confirmed that she will stop at nothing until the former AFCON 2013 star is brought to justice.
My lawyers are indeed contacting the police and the Nigerian government office at the moment. because our business is international.
It is unfortunate that Brown does not realize how this could end for him ... he not only does not pay child support, but violates the law and the rights of children. I won't rest until they put him in his place! Everyone is equal before the law! and in Ukraine and in Nigeria and in the world.”, Yana Voloschenko told Pulse Sports Nigeria.
At the time of this report, Ideye has not yet been declared wanted by the Nigerian police amid the ongoing paternity scandal.
This wouldn’t be the first time Ideye would be entangled in a paternity saga.
In 2017, a Swiss court ordered Ideye to pay a secretary at club Neuchatel Xamax, Francisca Errol $225,000 in child support for the son he allegedly fathered while he played there between 2007 and 2009.
Brown Ideye currently plays as a striker for Kuwaiti Division One club Al-Yarmouk.
However, the former Nigeria international had played for several clubs in Switzerland, France, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine, and England.
The 34-year-old forward won league titles with Olympiacos and Dynamo Kyiv.
Ideye was also a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
