The PFL heavyweight champion made his presence felt at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou, brought a touch of star power to Old Trafford as he linked up with Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, before the Red Devils' Europa League comeback win against Bodo/Glimt.
The pair, both Cameroonian natives, shared the spotlight alongside Onana’s wife, Melanie Kamayou, in a series of snaps that highlighted their camaraderie and shared heritage.
Ngannou, a passionate Manchester United fan, soaked in the atmosphere of Ruben Amorim’s first victory as the club's manager.
The match was an emotional rollercoaster, with United trailing before a stellar brace by Rasmus Hojlund secured the 3-2 win.
Pitchside before the game, Ngannou, Onana, and his doctor wife, posed for the cameras, showcasing their pride.
Onana, still in his team tracksuit, struck a confident pose, while Ngannou, sporting a light jacket and signature red cap, mirrored his friend’s energy.
In another photo, Ngannou posed with Melanie, as she shared snaps on her Instagram page captioning it: ‘Great Game tonight.’
Ngannou and Onana’s friendship beyond the spotlight
This is not the first time the duo has shared the limelight.
Their bond, rooted in their shared Cameroonian origins, has been well-documented. Last year, Ngannou and Onana were seen catching up during Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the United States.
For Ngannou, the visit marked a brief pause from his gruelling fight schedule.
Fresh from his knockout victory over Renan Ferreira in the PFL Super Fight back in October, the newly-crowned heavyweight champion appeared relaxed and at ease.
Onana, on the other hand, had just completed a challenging 90 minutes on the pitch, making crucial saves despite conceding twice.
