After scoring three goals against Ipswich and West Ham for the Blues, the Manchester City striker added his third hat-trick to his season total of 22 goals for club and country.
Haaland, the team's captain, gave Norway the lead in the 24th minute when he was the quickest to react after Kazakhstani goalie Stas Pokalitov made a fantastic save and the ball went loose.
Thirteen minutes later, he found a gap at the back post and carefully placed a header into the top corner to score a second.
To wrap up a commanding first half, Antonio Nusa added a Norwegian third.
Haaland increased his record as Norway's top scorer to 38 goals overall with a clean low right-foot finish from the edge of the box to add his third goal of the game in the second half.
Nusa scored once more as Norway grabbed a fifth which secured their spot as top of the group following Austria's draw with Slovenia in Vienna.
The hat-trick for Haaland comes as Manchester City takes on Tottenham when the Premier League retirns after the international break.
