Nigeria's Falconets take on Mexico in their final friendly before the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
There is news about Nigeria's U-20 Women's national team known as the Falconets as they prepare for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.
After a meeting the Sports Minister Owan Enoh, the team stormed Colombia in style.
When the two teams play a friendly match on Monday night at Club Banco de la República in Bogota, head coach Christopher Musa Danjuma stated on Sunday that Nigeria's U20 ladies, the Falconets, will give it their all to defeat their Mexican opponents.
He said, “Our victory over Australia was such a sweet one, but I have told the ladies to drive it into the recesses of their minds and concentrate on Monday’s encounter.
"We need another victory to sustain our winning mentality. We won five of our six qualifying matches with healthy score lines and have now added victory over the Australians to boot.
“As I keep saying at every turn, the FIFA World Cup finals here will not be easy.
"The fact that we are up against Korea Republic and three-time winners Germany in our first two matches means we need to be at our best physically, mentally and psychologically. Physically and mentally, I believe we are in shape.
"Psychologically, we are good, and we will be great if we defeat the Mexicans to go into the competition unbeaten.”
The Falconets destroyed their Central African Republic opponents 6-0 in Douala and Abuja, thumping Burkina Faso 6-0 in Abuja and 1-1 in Bamako, and destroying Liberia 2-0 in Monrovia and Monrovia in the African qualifying tournament. They scored 25 goals while giving up just two goals.
The silver medalists from 2010 and 2014 defeated the Australians 2-1 during regulation time on Friday, and they went on to win a penalty shootout that was called at the request of the Australian delegation.
At 3.30 p.m. Colombia time (9.30 p.m. Nigeria time), the match will begin.
The Mexicans, who have only missed one edition of the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup finals since it began in 2002, are predicted to give much tougher challenge.
