As the team begins the first round of final preparations for the 8th FIFA U17 Women's World Cup finals, which will take place in the Dominican Republic later this year, Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has invited 35 players to the Flamingos camp in Nigeria.

The Nigerian girls finished the qualifying race with an incredible 25 goals in six matches, dominating the Central African Republic by six goals in each leg, defeating Burkina Faso 7-1 on aggregate in the third round, and defeating Liberia 6-1 on aggregate in the final round.

Alongside her attack partner Peace Effiong, extraordinary poacher Harmony Chidi leads the list of invitees.

Taiwo Afolabi, the team captain, goalkeeper Chrstiana Uzoma, and defender Prisca Nwachukwu are also notable. Chidi struck a record-breaking 13 goals in the qualification series.

From October to November, Santiago de los Caballeros and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic will play host to the 8th FIFA U17 Women's World Cup finals.
