Africans stole the show at Anfield with in-form Ghanaian superstar Mohammed Kudus scoring the goal of the night but it ended in tears for him, Bassey and Ajax as Salah and Matip came through for the Reds at Anfield.

Bassey put in a good showing to help Ajax survive the Reds at their famous home ground despite some good chances from the host.
However, the night belonged to Cameroonian star Matip and of course, his Ghanaian counterpart, Mohammed Kudus.
All three goals were scored by Africans, Mohamed Salah, Kudus, who netted the goal of the tie, and match winner for Liverpool, Matip.
