On her official social media platforms, Onumonu said goodbye to Gotham.
Along with photos she said, "I don’t want to make this too long…🥹First I just want to say that I’m so grateful and thankful for the last 4 yrs I spent at Gotham.
"I’ve learned so much about myself and became a better player for it. Thank you to all the Sky Blue/ Gotham fans that have supported me throughout my time, I will miss you the most.

Onumonu at Gotham
Following her trade from OL Reign in 2020, Onumonu has participated in all three of Gotham FC's seasons.
The striker played in 40 games with the New York-based team, starting 35 of them, and finishing with 10 goals and 6 assists in almost 3,000 minutes of play.

Onumonu played in 14 games during the most recent 2023 NWSL regular season, starting four of them with a total of 370 minutes and one assist.
The highlight of Onumonu's summer was her vital role in the Nigerian team for the 2023 World Cup.
Onumonu who won the NWSL with Gotham last season and is set to continue her career in the United States of America.
