In their opener of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Nigeria's Flamingos demolished New Zealand 4-1.
The Flamingos defeated New Zealand 4-1 in their opening game and with the victory over Ecuador now have a maximum of six points from their first two games.
The team has scored eight goals and conceded just one make a string case as one of the best in the final eight.
In the 26th minute, Shakirat Moshood gave Nigeria the lead from the penalty spot.
Aishat Animashaun's ball found Harmony Chidi, who doubled Nigeria's lead in the 54th minute of the second half.
Peace Effiong contributed the third, and Moshood completed the task by contributing Nigeria's fourth.
Coach Bankole on Flamingos win
Head Coach Bankole Olowookere charged the Flamingos to get three points against Ecuador and after the game was pleased with their performance.
He took to social media to give his thoughts on the convincing victory.
He said, "A convincing and ruthless win takes us to the quarter-final of the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
"We are absolutely grateful for the support of Nigerians worldwide.

After the game, Chidi, who scored a goal and assisted on another, was chosen as the Player of the Match.
In their match against the hosts, the Dominican Republic, on Tuesday, the Flamingos will want to keep their perfect record in the competition ahead of the quarterfinals.
