Check out new photos of Lionel Messi and his family visit to At-Turaif.
During their tour to Saudi Arabia, Argentinian football great Lionel Messi and his family went to the 300-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site in Diriyah called At-Turaif.
Additionally, he visited some of Riyadh's more cutting-edge attractions.
On the outskirts of Riyadh, At-Turaif is a medieval city that was founded in the 15th century.
When the football player from Paris Saint-Germain arrived in the Kingdom, he went on a guided tour of Diriyah and dined at Al-Bujairi Terrace.
Messi and his family were able to spend valuable time together at VIA Riyadh, a new luxury destination in the Saudi capital, and Boulevard Riyadh City, two of the city's most cutting-edge entertainment and shopping areas.
Messi smiled for photos with a white falcon on his arm while the family visited the Arabian Horse Museum and socialized with purebred Arabian horses.
Messi's wife Antonella Roccuzzo donned a traditional Saudi Hama—a decorative headdress often worn by ladies from the Najdi area of the Kingdom—during the visit.
Messi on visit to Saudi Arabia
Messi took to his official Instagram account to show off his move to Saudi Arabia.
Along with photos was a message that said, "Great memory spending a sensational day exploring Diriyah with my family, the birthplace of the Saudi State and home to 300 years of history #visitsaudi #Diriyah @visitdiriyah."
Messi, regarded as one of the sport's icons, led Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar last year.
Messi is an ambassador for the advertising brand Visit Saudi run by the tourist ministry.
