'Make us proud' - Sports Minister charges Super Eagles of Nigeria to dismantle Libya

Sports Minister Owan Enoh has told the Super Eagles how to win against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

The Honorable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has sent a warning to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Augustine Eguavoen side are set to take on the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a matchday three 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Ahead of the game on Friday at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Minister cautioned the Super Eagles to take the game with seriousness.

The North Africans have declared that they want to at least tie with Austin Eguavoen's team and the Minister wants the team to target maximum points.

He took to social media to post a message of encouragement to the team before the game.

He said, "My dear Super Eagles of Nigeria, your solid start in the qualifiers has put you in a favorable position to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

"None the less, you must guard your place at the top, as the Mediterranean Knights will aim to defy expectations, seeking at least a draw in Uyo.

The first leg between Nigeria and Libya will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, and kick off at 5 PM local time.
