Football fans praise Lionel Messi for acting debut in Argentine series ‘Los Protectores’
Lionel Messi is once again making headlines, but this time it's because of his journey into acting.
The Albiceleste captain is still taking advantage of his remaining vacation days in his native Argentina before reporting to Inter Miami.
In the 'Los Protectores' television series, which is aired in Argentina on the Star+ streaming platform and in which the 36-year-old striker portrays himself for his acting debut.
The new season chronicles the exploits of its three main characters as they attempt to break into the competitive world of football representation.
The five-minute-long scenario in which Messi makes an appearance as a Rosario player also includes three other characters who are portrayed by the Argentine actors Adrián Suar, Gustavo Bermdez, and the Colombian Andres Parra.
Messi's acting role in Los Protectores
The three "Protectores" provide Messi with a commercial opportunity that would allow him to play for a different team every day in every Argentine league.
Since they had originally presented a different plan, Messi pretends to be angry and feels betrayed.
All four parties appeal for calm as the matter comes to a head, and Messi ultimately agrees to sponsor a project that will aid young Argentine footballers who want to transfer to Europe.
Messi has since received positive reviews for his acting debut, with fans saying he deserves an award for the cameo.
Messi's acting debut comes after scoring a hat trick on his 36th birthday in a charity match featuring his old side, Newell's Old Boys.
