This revelation was shared during a recent interview when Mikel was a guest on Skysports.

Mikel spent over a decade at Chelsea from 2006 to 2017, earning three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and a Champions League trophy.

His comments come at a time when Chelsea, under the ownership of Todd Boehly, are actively seeking to bolster their attacking options to elevate their Premier League title aspirations.

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the world’s top strikers, fits the profile of the high-calibre talent Chelsea are targeting, especially after their unsuccessful attempt to sign him in the summer of 2024.

He said, “I know exactly where we stopped. If we have to pick it up again in the summer, it’s just pretty easy to get it done because the player really wants to come to the football club.”

Chelsea had sold Romelu Lukaku to Napoli and appeared poised to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, but the deal collapsed, leading Osimhen to join Galatasaray on loan instead.

Mikel’s involvement extends beyond mere commentary—he has actively tried to recruit Osimhen to Chelsea in the past.
