Rapper Drake has pocketed a whopping $2.7m (about Shs10bn) after placing a bet on Israel Adesanya to reclaim the middleweight UFC world title.
An avid punter, Drake placed two huge bets backing Adesanya to beat Pereira, one by knockout and also to get the win over the Brazilian.
He placed a $500,000 (about Shs(1.8bn) bet on Adesanya to win, which returned $885,000 (about Shs3.2bn) Shs and a $400,000 chance for him to win by knockout, which yielded a massive $ 1.8 million (about Shs6.8bn).
The win serves as redemption for both Adesanya and Drake. When Adesanya lost his title to Pereira five months ago, the Canadian rapper lost a whopping $1.6m.
It's not surprising that when he was asked about Drake's bet after bagging the win, he was all in joy.
"Shout out to everyone that bet on me, but you have to realise that when I step into the octagon, I put my life on the line. That's the biggest parlay you can ever do. I'm a betting man too, so shout out to stake; we are about to make another deal and get more money."
Adesanya handed a devasting punch to send Pereira wobbling to the canvas in the second round to earn a knockout victory.
