Super Eagles vibes 🇳🇬🇳🇬The New Liverpool away kit takes inspiration from the 1995 edition, but fans see Super Eagles colors.
Liverpool FC introduced its new white and green away uniform for the 2023–24 season on Friday, June 30.
The new Liverpool away kit for the upcoming campaign is a contemporary interpretation of the away shirt from 1995–1996, when Ian Rush was the club captain and the tremendously gifted Robbie Fowler was the top scorer.
The jersey has a black collar and cuff with a digital effect treatment that layers tonal greens like green flash, poison green, and pine green for a contemporary take on the traditional green and white quarter pattern.
Black shorts, a black name and number, and white socks with a black and green accents complete the kit.
Liverpool's new away kit
Liverpool revealed their new away kit through the club's official social media platforms.
A message from kit designer and international sports brand Nike about the new outfit said, "The Liverpool FC 2023/24 Away Shirt sees the return of a classic, with the famous green and white quarters of the ’95-’96 team reimagined with a digital twist."
Liverpool and Super Eagles
Liverpool first team players such as Mohamed Salah, club captain Jordan Henderson, Virgil Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander Arnold modeled the new away kit.
The new away kit is a whole lot different than the home attire initially released earlier.
Nigerian fans took to social media to tease Liverpool fans about the traditional Super Eagles Green and White colors for the design of the away kit.
As explained, the Green and white used by Liverpool have no attachment to Nigeria.
The new Liverpool away uniform's promotional campaign skips ahead two decades, from the '70s-inspired home kit to the '90s.
For the preseason tour in Singapore, the men's squad will wear this uniform for the first time against Leicester City, while the women's team will do the same in late August for their preseason games.
