Seyi Makinde departed the state house in Oyo State Nigeria for the United States of America (USA).
The Oyo State Governor stated that he was in attendance to watch Serbian Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff win the Men's and Women's single events.

He took to his official social media platforms to celebrate his attendance at the US Open.
He posted photos with family and friends at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York to watch the US Open final.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "We watched 19-year-old Coco Gauff and 37-year-old Novak Djokovic make history at this year’s US Open Women and Men’s Championships.
"Coco’s rise has been slow but steady, whilst Djokovic has remained tenacious. They both represent hard work, focus and determination.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state is currently being ridiculed by several Nigerians on social media after traveling to New York City to witness the tennis tournament's US Open finals.

The feedback from Nigerians about Makindes travel was mostly negative.
Some residents of Oyo State stated that there are no such Tennis tournaments or infrastructure provided by Governor Makinde for Tennis and could not understand why the Governor would spend taxpayer's money on an extravagant outing.
Governor Makinde has yet to react to the feedback of his constituents and has yet to arrive in the country.
