The Indiana Athletics Hall of Fame has decided to celebrate the career of Nigerian-born NBA star Victor Oladipo. .

Among the six members of the Indiana Athletics Hall of Fame class will be one of the state's greatest men's basketball players of the twenty-first century.

Victor Oladipo was a vital part of Tom Crean's most successful men's basketball teams in the early 2010s.

Now, Oladipo is the first player from that era of Hoosier basketball to be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame.

Oladipo took to his official social media platforms to celebrate his latest achievement.

Along with a photo was a message that said, "Indiana University Hall of Famer🏆 Extremely thankful and honored.

"Couldn’t have made it to the Hall of Fame without my brothers in the locker room.

Why Oladipo got inducted into the Indiana Athletics Hall of Fame

After an outstanding junior year in 2012–13, Oladipo won the Sporting News National Player of the Year award, becoming Indiana men's basketball's first recipient of the title in 20 years.

That season, Oladipo averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.2 steals while guiding Indiana to its first Big Ten title in eleven years and its first #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in twenty years.

In addition, Oladipo received a unanimous First-Team All-American selection and was awarded co-National Defensive Player of the Year.

Oladipo left the 2013 season to play in the NBA when the Orlando Magic selected him with the second overall choice in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Over the course of his 11-year NBA career, he has played for five different teams, averaging 16.9 points per game.

On September 20, Oladipo will formally be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside other nominees.

The following day, at Memorial Stadium, at halftime of the Indiana-Charlotte football game, they will be acknowledged.
