The African Table Tennis Champion, Quadri Aruna, will lead the other Four African table tennis players to the competition.
The African Table Tennis Champion, Quadri Aruna, is set to battle for Nine billion Naira at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Singapore Smash opens.
Aruna will lead the other Four African table tennis players to the competition as the main competition begins at OCBC Arena on Saturday.
African Opponents in the first round
Four African Players will start the jouney in the first round of the competition, Quadri Aruna will begin his quest against World number 37, Ruwen Filus from Germany.
Egpty's Omar Assar will battle Portugese Tiago Apolonia in the round of 16.
In the women's singles, 15 year old Hana Goda will face world number 44, Sabine winter on Sunday while Dina Meshref will battle Goi Rui Xuan from Singapore.
The defending singles champions Fan Zhendong and Chen Meng sounded confident on taking on all comers.
Singapore Smash 2023 will take place from 11-19 March at Singapore Sports Hub with a prize purse of US$2,000,000 on offer.
Aruna Shining in the Russian League
Aruna started his journey in the Russian Premier Table Tennis League on a high note.
Aruna started his campaign with a 100 percent win in all his matches to earn Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg the third-round victory at the Russian Table Tennis Centre in Moscow.
The Oyo-born table tennis team won all five of their matches, topping the league table ahead of UMMC Verkhnyaya Psyhma. They were joined by Chinese international An Yan and Russian national champion Alexander Shibaev.
