Dimitrij Ovtcharov of Germany, who won the double Olympic singles bronze medal, was defeated by Qihao of China in five games.
QIhao's triumph marked his first gold medal at the singles level on the Contender circuit and his first singles gold since winning in Panagyurishte at a World Table Tennis feeder level competition last year.
Qihao won the competition at the Sir Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall with a score of 11-7, 11-6, 11-8, 7-11, and 11-7.
Earlier, he defeated Jonathan Groth of Denmark 11-7, 12-14, 11-7, 11-5 to secure his place in the championship final. In the other semifinal match, Ovtcharov defeated India's Harmeet Desai 11-7, 11-6, 11-9.

At the age of 17, Yu-Bin participated in table tennis at Tokyo 2020 and won the WTT Contender singles title in Nova Gorica the previous year.
Yu-Bin lost the opening game 11-4 before taking control of the match by winning the following three games 11-9, 11-5, and 11-2.

In the semi-finals, Yu-Bin defeated fellow South Korean Kim Nayeong 12-10, 8-11, 11-9, and 11-7, while Li defeated fellow Chinese player Xiaotong Wang 11-6, 11-7, and 11-9.
In the Doubles, Jang Wooqin and Lim Jonghoon of South Korea won the men's doubles match by defeating Yuan Licen and Xiang Peng of China 12-10, 11-4, 7-11, and 11-8.
Yu-Bin and fellow South Korean Jeon Jinhee defeated Chinese opponents Fan Siqi and Liu Weishan in the women's doubles singles final by coming back from a game behind to win gold. Their score was 7-11, 14-12, 11-8, and 11-6.
