The 2024 WTT Contender Lagos is the first WTT Series event in Sub-Saharan Africa as WTT Nominations have been confirmed, with some exciting names joining the competition.

Leading the charge is Indian star Manika Batra, a history-maker as the first Indian to reach a WTT Grand Smash quarterfinal. This will be her WTT Contender Lagos debut, and she's a strong contender for the Women's Singles title.

Joining her are fellow Indians Ayhika Mukherjee and Diya Parag Chitale, who received host wildcard entries.

Wildcard Opportunities

India's Manush Utpalbhai Shah and Akash Pal will compete in the Men's Singles draw as host wildcards.

Shah seeks to climb the rankings ladder, and this wildcard could be a stepping stone. For Pal, this is his WTT Series debut outside of India.

Second Chances in Qualifying

Yaroslav Zhmudenko from Ukraine and Mehdi Bouloussa from Algeria received wildcards for the Men's Singles Qualifying after falling short in the 2023 edition.

The WTT Contender Lagos takes place from June 19th to 23rd at the Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium.
