All Nigerians were knocked out in the first round at the Ongoing WTT contender.
The President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Ishaku Tikon, has revealed that the federation planned to bring foreign coaches for development of female players.
Tikon told Pulse Sports that the players will be given international exposure at the just concluded World Table Tennis Contender Championship, at the Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

He said, "It's very good advise that we should get international coaches and we are already working on it as we plan to have a very formidable female team.
"Participation in World Class event like this, training of our players and also the federation should support and encourage."

Tikon said Nigerian athletes performed admirably in the tournament against the top athletes in the world, and they will become better athletes with more competitions and training programs.
“You will be aware that some of the top Nigerian table tennis players, like Quadri Aruna, were not at the WTT Contender event. Also, you should understand that the world event is made up of the best players across the world.
“The draws for the championship were tough for most Nigerian players because they were paired with top-ranked table tennis players. Nigeria had enough international preparations ahead of the WTT Contender event.
Pulse Sports reported that Zhou Qihao won the men's after causing an upset defeating world No. 14 Dima Ovtcharov 4-1 to lift his first WTT Contender Singles title.
