Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri has failed to climb the rankings ladder despite reaching the round of 16 at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Frankfurt tournament in Germany.
Quadri displayed impressive form in Germany, defeating world number eight and Japanese star Tomokazu Harimoto in the round of 32 with a 3-2 score.
However, his journey was cut short by German player Ricardo Walter, who defeated the Nigerian 3-2 in the round of 16.

Aruna lost to Germany's Ricardo Walter 3-2 in the round of 16 at the WTT Championship in Frankfurt.
In the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings, released on Wednesday, Quadri remains stagnant at the 21st position with 1405 points.
Quadri's stagnation means Egyptian rival Omar Assar has overtaken him, moving up to 20th with 1408 points.
Despite the setback, Quadri has another chance to improve his ranking soon when he plays at the WTT tournament in Fukuoka, Japan, next week.
The Oyo State-born star has achieved a career-high world ranking of 10. He is recognised for his contributions to African table tennis winning the world's best player in 2014.
