He is currently competing in the WTT Contender Zagreb, where he will face Croatian player Frane Kojic in the men's singles first round.

A recent appeal to the ITTF resulted in Aruna regaining World Table Tennis Championship points, leading to his jump to 16th place.

However, his official qualification for the Paris Olympics remains unconfirmed until the final rankings update on June 11th to determine the final list of players competing in France.

Meanwhile, Spaniard Alvaro Robles is another big mover in the rankings as he achieved a new career-high of 32nd place, jumping 15 spots.

His impressive climb reflects Robles' dedication and recent strong performances, reaching the finals of two WTT events in 2024, including the WTT Contender Mendoza last week.

Although he fell short of the title, his new ranking is a significant accomplishment and likely a motivator for future success.
