The championship is slated for the Tennis Complex of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, from May 18 to May 27.
Over 300 players are expected to compete in different categories in the 2023 edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Open Tennis Championship.
The CBN Senior Open Tennis Championship is Nigeria's premier tennis event and the nation's selection ground in advance of major tournaments like the Davis Cup and All Africa Games.
Recall that the championship has produced stars in the male and female categories such as Sunday Maku, David Imonite, Veronica Oyibokia-Iwebema, Clara Udofa, and Christy Agugbom.
Other talents discovered were Sarah Adegoke, Sylvester Emmanuel, and more recently, Imeh Joseph, Oparoji Uche, Nonso Madueke, Henry Atseye, Oyinlomo Quadri, and Marylove Edwards, among others.

The Acting Director of the Corporate Communications Department, CBN, Isa Abdulmumin, made this statement available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Abdulmumin stated that players would participate in wheelchair men's singles and wheelchair women's singles, as well as in men's singles, women's singles, doubles, and wheelchair doubles.
He urged participants to take the opportunity of the championship to display their talents.
