Customs and CNS win 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League

Nigeria Immigration Service and Kwara United VC faced relegation after finishing in the 11th and 12th positions.

Abuja played host to the thrilling conclusion of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, which saw the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) teams emerge victorious in the women's and men's categories, respectively.

Women's Category

The women's competition was dominated by the Nigeria Customs Service, who won the championship title with an impressive total of 63 points.

The CNS Spikers put up a strong fight, finishing in second place with 59 points.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) rounded out the top three, claiming third place with 58 points.

The competition remained fierce beyond the top three. COAS Spikers ended in fourth place with 45 points, followed by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Rockets in fifth with 41 points.

LifeCamp and Benue Queens initially finished with 29 points, but LifeCamp ended up placing sixth due to a tiebreaker, while Benue Queens settled for seventh.

Offa VC, CNS Spikers win 2023 Volleyball Premier League

Kada Emeralds finished eighth with 25 points, while Olalomi Royal VC and Anambra Queens completed the top ten with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Unfortunately, Nigeria Immigration Service and Kwara United VC faced relegation after finishing in the 11th and 12th positions.

Men's Category

The men's category provided just as much excitement, with CNS Spikers narrowly edging out the previous champions, Offa VC, to claim the title.

CNS Spikers finished with 56 points, while Offa VC secured second place with a close 53 points. Kada VC took third place with 44 points. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) finished fourth with 43 points, followed by COAS Spikers in fifth with 42 points.

The Nigeria Customs Service also performed respectably in the men’s category, finishing sixth with 37 points.

Sunshine Spikers and the Nigeria Correctional Service both earned 35 points, securing seventh and eighth places, respectively. Kano Pillars finished ninth with 19 points, while NSCDC ended the competition in tenth place with 18 points.

In the men’s category, similar to the women's, two teams faced relegation: the Nigeria Immigration Service and Spartan Spikers, who finished 11th and 12th, respectively.
