The Captain of Nigeria U21 women's team, Kelechi Ndukaba was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game.
The Nigeria women's Volleyball team begins their campaign at the ongoing 2023 African U21 Nations Volleyball Championship (Zone 3) in Niamey, Niger Republic, with a victory over Ghana.
The team demolished Ghana 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-8) in their first match on Thursday.
Nigeria wasted no time, winning five points before their opponents managed to win a point. The captain of the side, Kelechi Ndukaba, went on to win seven straight points to put Nigeria at an advantage; 14 to 3. The first set ended 25-11 in favor of Nigeria.

Nigeria U-21 Girls arrives Niamey for African Zone 3 Volleyball Championship
The CAVB U21 Girls Zone 3 Nations Cup is slated for July 3–10, 2023.
The second set got off to a strong start as Maryam Ibrahim scored six points for herself and Nigeria received points from services. Nigeria had a 23 to 7 point lead when Ghana scored 8 points to bring the score to 25 to 15 in Nigeria's advantage.
Nigeria took control of the court in the third set, led by the brilliant libero Mariam Usmana. Nice victory in the third set, 25 to 8 points, under 10.

Reacting after the game, Nigeria's head coach of the Nigeria U-21 women's volleyball team, Rakiya Mohammed said the world is yet to see the best of the girls.

Nigeria's Volleyball unveils squad for African Beach Games
The 2023 African Beach Games will be hosted by Tunisia from 23rd to 30th June at the Yasmine Hammamet resort in Tunisia.
Mohammed said the athletes are prepared to bring the trophy to Nigeria and get ready for the FIVB U19 Girls World Championship in Croatia and Hungary in August 2023.
She said, "I am happy with the performance of the players, they showed determination, passion and zeal on the court. I want to assure you that the best of the girls are yet to be seen by the world.
"Our next mission is to beat the Niger Republic on Friday (tomorrow) and assert our dominance in West Africa. Immediately we end this championship, some of the girls will resume camp ahead of next month's World Championship."
Meanwhile, the National U21 women's team's performance was praised by Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
