The team is preparing for the African Games and the World Para volleyball Cup.
The President of the Nigerian Paravolley Federation, Kayode Ladele, has disclosed that the federation is working to put together a national team of which Nigerians can be proud.
In his post-camp evaluation at the end of the two-week exercise for the men's national team, he stated that the necessity of the exercise, under the supervision of medal-winning and certified international coach Elaiuty Mosaad from Egypt, to prepare a team for the African Games and the World Paravolley World Cup later in the year, was necessary.
He said, “Many activities are happening this year. There is a West Africa versus South Africa paravolley competition in June. There are African Games, and there is the World Cup.

He added that the federation wants to build a team that can represent what we want as the gold standard.
“Already, Nigeria has qualified for the World Cup organized by the World Paravolley Federation in Egypt. We do not want to be caught unawares. So, this is why we arranged the open camp: to bring all of them together, choose the team, and begin to have regular training.
“Federation thought it best to maximize the opportunity to expose the national team to the international stage ahead of the African Games, billed to hold from September 3 to 12, 2023, in Accra, Ghana, and the World Cup.

Lagos Clubs dominate west Africa club sitting volleyball championship
The inaugural Para volleyball championship is in preparation for the Africa Championship.
“In the long run, we intend to raise a team that can stand as the standard of what we want. Then, we can start encouraging teams, players, and many people will have something to look forward to.”
Nigeria organized the West Africa Para-Volleyball Championship
Pulse Sports reports that Lagos-based clubs have dominated the inaugural edition of the West Africa Sitting Volleyball Championship in Lagos.
The championship was organized by the West Africa Para-Volleyball Association and the Nigeria Para-Volleyball Federation in conjunction with the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC).
Sitting volleyball is a form of volleyball for athletes with disabilities. As opposed to standing volleyball, in sitting volleyball, players must be sitting on the floor during the game.
