Nigeria had a tough group at the FIVB U-19 World Championships.
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) President, Musa Nimrod, has assured the nation of a successful outing at the FIVB U-19 World Championships.
The championship is slated to start on August 2, in San Juan, Argentina.
The top four teams in each group will advance to the second phase of the competition for the men's U-19 team, which will take place from August 2 to August 11, 2023.
Nigeria was placed in Group B alongside co-hosts Croatia, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Germany for the women's U-19 competition, which will take place in Osijek, Croatia, and Szeged, Hungary, from August 1 to 11, 2023. The top four teams will also advance to the second round, just like the men.
Nimrod expressed confidence in a good outing
Reacting to the draws, Nimrod expressed his belief that both teams would advance out of their respective groups.

The team is preparing for the African Games and the World Para volleyball Cup.
“I know Korea will be quite tough in the male category, but they should do very well. The female category will not be easy, but we should be able to get out of the group; we have to ensure we get out of the group in both categories.
“I want to appeal to the AFN to continue with the development programs for our youths because they are the bedrock of the future,” he said.
Pulse Sports reports that Nimrod donated five softballs to each of the 36 states of the Federation, including the FCT.
Nimrod gave 185 volleyball softballs to the Nigerian volleyball community on Sunday to commemorate his birthday.

The fiesta started on March 24 and runs through March 26, and featured more than 30 teams across the country.
According to Nimrod, the balls will be distributed by the NVBF Zonal Representatives and will only be used for developmental activities in the various states.
