Despite seeing her Olympics dream, dashed, Maya Lesnar has recorded great strides in her home country.
Mya Lesnar, daughter of WWE and UFC legend Brock Lesnar, has made significant strides in her track and field career during the 2023-24 season at the University of Colorado (USC).
The 22-year-old athlete has emerged as a star in the sport, setting new records and earning accolades.
However, despite her remarkable achievements, Mya's bid to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics ended in disappointment.
At the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team trials in June, Mya finished last in the women’s shot-put final with a throw of 16.77 meters.
This result was well below her best performances, as she holds USC's indoor and outdoor shot put records with throws of 19.10 and 19.08 meters, respectively.

Mya Lesnar: 7 interesting things to know about Brock Lesnar's daughter seen as a future athletics star
Meet Mya Lesnar, daughter of WWE superstar Brock Lesnar. Here are the major things you need to know about the future athletics star.
Mya Lesnar wins Mountain West Female Athlete of the Year
Although the Olympic stage eluded her, Mya Lesnar's 2023-24 season was far from unsuccessful.
She was named the Mountain West Female Athlete of the Year, a prestigious honor that has only been awarded to one other USC athlete in history.
This recognition followed her victory as the 2024 NCAA Indoor Shot Put National Champion in February and her second All-America nod for her outdoor shot put performance at the NCAA championships in June.
Despite the attention, Mya remains focused on carving out her own athletic legacy, separate from her father’s iconic career.
"It's really not about my dad," Mya said in an interview with 9NEWS Sports Denver.
"He is one of my biggest supporters, but honestly, at the end of the day, I am here to make a name for myself."
Mya's achievements have not gone unnoticed.
She became a viral sensation last December after breaking USC's shot put record, drawing praise from fans and athletes alike, including UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
